Rochelle Printing Goes Multi-Dimensional with HumanEyes .gif)
Rochelle Printing located in Rochelle, Illinois offers a full range of prepress and printing services including its patented CyberCene Flex-n-Tuck products designed to add visual impact to point of purchase materials, greeting cards, ceiling dangler, counter/case topper similar items.
With CyberCene, promotional images are printed on clear rigid polyester and are then mounted on a die cut, folded, 18 point frame to create a multi-dimensional free-standing display. There is also an all plastic version that utilizes a 22 point 100 LPI lens to further increase the depth of the 3D image. Using HumanEyes PrintPro software to add lenticular and flip images to CyberCene materials brings even more depth and dimension to the products.
The Business challenge: promote new services; support good causes In order to promote its new lenticular and 3D printing capabilities, the company brought samples prepared using HumanEyes PrintPro software to hand out at a trade show aimed at an audience interested in point of purchase and in-store marketing issues – The In-Store Marketing Expo. One sample was a poster for the organization Women in P.O.P., promoting Breast Cancer Awareness. This challenging image involved a 3D layered image of an underwater scene with a 4th dimension on the clear window in front of the 3D lenticular piece.
Says Greg Morhardt, VP Sales, “We wanted something that really popped and was an eye catcher. HumanEyes PrintPro software was perfect for this application.”
Prior to discovering HumanEyes, “We knew we wanted to get into 3D lenticular and flips but didn’t have much experience. Ease-of-use was therefore the big draw and the reason we chose HumanEyes software,” says Jeff Johnson, pre-press manager at Rochelle Printing.
“The HumanEyes software seemed simple and easy to follow,” he adds. “For example it is very straightforward to determine the appropriate pitch of material with HumanEyes – much easier than some other products we looked at. The 2D to 3D timeline is another fabulous feature that helps us enormously.”
The solution: adding 3D to CyberCene The company prepared and printed 1000 of the 5”x 7” posters on a 100 LPI 3D lens using its new Shinohara 79 Five color UV press, a Screen Platesetter, and HumanEyes PrintPro software. Morhardt was thrilled with the result. ‘’Our customers are increasingly expressing interest in the added depth, dimension and higher visual appeal HumanEyes software allows us to give to their packaging and store displays.”
The Results: increased visibility and new customers to follow! Rochelle achieved both of its objectives at the trade show with the Breast Cancer Awareness CyberCene. Says Morhardt, “It worked, we handed many of these samples out and received a great response from all who saw it. The company is also receiving industry recognition for its lenticular work. Rochelle entered the Cybercene in the recent IAPHC Lenticular contest and was rewarded with a Gold award in the category.
